During the period when Coronavirus is still prevalent we have made it a condition of Hire that all Hirers comply with the rules set out below:-
In addition the Government guidelines must be complied with. Currently we are aware that singing will not be allowed in the Hall nor any activity which could be regarded as using the Hall as a ‘gym’. Parties will also not be possible until further notice.
All information set out below is subject to the above.
Taplow Village Hall comprises two Rooms. The smaller is known as the Perkins Room and the larger as the Reading Room.
There is some availability for casual hire. The rates for casual hire are shown below:-
Both rooms are used by a number of regular hirers. For example every weekday morning in term time St Nicolas Playgroup uses the whole building. Pilates classes are run on Monday afternoons and evenings. Maidenhead Operatic Society meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and the Maidenhead Musical Comedy Society are in on Wednesday evenings. Alternate Saturdays will see the nationally acclaimed Taplow Choir rehearsing or violin lessons taking place. Other regular hirers include Yoga, the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, Act 1 youth drama group and Sasha White’s ballet class.
If you would be interested in becoming a regular hirer then we can offer you preferential rates. For more information please contact the Clerk
Please enquire in advance about availability of either hall for bookings.
Bookings will need to be made using the appropriate form together with the relevant payments – that is a cheque for the booking fee and a separate cheque for the Security Deposit fee.

We have prepared answers to frequently asked questions about our hall hire which are below:-
How can I make a booking
Start by checking if the Hall is free on the date you want. Best to email us on firstname.lastname@example.org as this is monitored daily or you can leave a message on the answerphone 01628 667311which will be picked up when the office is next manned ie Monday Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
If the hall is available but you are not familiar with the Hall we strongly recommend you try and visit it before you confirm your booking.
Please note that any visits can only take place when the office is open and the hall is free from regular hiring ie on Monday afternoons between 3pm and 5pm and Thursday afternoons between 4 and 5pm.
We are happy to provisionally pencil you in but a booking can only be confirmed when we receive a completed booking form and payment of the Booking fee and Security Deposit Fee. The booking form can be downloaded from our website ( see above) or you could collect one from the office or we could email one to you if you wish. Payment should be by one cheque to include both the booking fee and the security deposit fee. Cheque should be made payable to ‘Taplow Parish Council’.
If all is well after the hiring then a cheque will be raised and posted to the hirer to return the Security Deposit fee.
Is there a caretaker to let us in
No. It is vital that you arrange to pick up a set of keys just prior to your event date and be shown the entrance and exit and return of keys procedures. We ask that you leave the building as you find it and empty the contents of any bins you have used into the large skip outside.
What is the capacity of the hall?
The large room is known as the Reading Room and has clearance for 85 people to be seated. The smaller one is known as the Perkins Room and has clearance for up to 37 people to be seated. Up to 170 people can be standing in the whole village hall at any one time.
Are there tables and chairs?
Yes there are approximately 70 chairs and 12 large and 3 small collapsible rectangular tables. They are distributed in the two rooms and we would ask that if you move them then you should return them to where you found them.
Is there a car park?
Yes there is a free car park adjacent to the village Hall at the rear of the building with spaces for 37 vehicles. We cannot guarantee that all the spaces will be free as local residents do park from time to time.
Can we play music?
Yes but we request that no loud music is played because of the close proximity of our neighbours. We do not allow radio microphones. We do not accept bookings for teenage parties.
Can we have bouncy castles?
No sorry we do not allow bouncy castles or any other inflatable devices.
Can we use the kitchen?
Yes we have a kitchen with a hatch that opens into the Reading Room. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, an urn a kettle and fridge/freezer. We do not have any crockery, cutlery or cups or glasses. We are happy for you to heat up food on the cooker but we do not allow food to be cooked from scratch on the premises.
Can we use the Green?
The Green is public open space and as such anyone can walk on there. We do not allow hirers to put any sort of structure or inflatable on the Green ( or anywhere outside the building) or behave in such a way as to make other users of the Green uncomfortable.

On weekends bookings are only available for the entire centre – so no other bookings will be taken to clash with your weekend casual booking.
