We have prepared answers to frequently asked questions about our hall hire which are below:-

How can I make a booking

Start by checking if the Hall is free on the date you want. Best to email us on taplow.pc@googlemail.com as this is monitored daily or you can leave a message on the answerphone 01628 667311which will be picked up when the office is next manned i.e. Monday Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

If the hall is available but you are not familiar with the Hall we strongly recommend you try and visit it before you confirm your booking.

Please note that any visits can only take place when the office is open and the hall is free from regular hiring i.e. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons between 4 and 5.15pm.

We are happy to provisionally pencil you in but a booking can only be confirmed when we receive a completed booking form and payment of the booking fee. The booking form can be downloaded from our website ( see above) or you could collect one from the office or we could email one to you if you wish.

Is there a caretaker to let us in

No. It is vital that you arrange to pick up a set of keys on an agreed date just prior to your event date and be shown the entrance and exit  and return of keys procedures. We ask that you leave the building as you find it and empty the contents of any bins you have used into the large skip outside.

What is the capacity of the hall?

The large room is known as the Reading Room and has clearance for 85 people to be seated. The smaller one is known as the Perkins Room and has clearance for up to 37 people to be seated. Up to 170 people can be standing in the whole village hall at any one time.

Are there tables and chairs?

Yes there are approximately 65 chairs and 11 large and 3 small collapsible rectangular tables. They are distributed in the two rooms and we would ask that if you move them then you should return them to where you found them.

Is there a car park?

Yes there is a free car park adjacent to the village Hall at the rear of the building with spaces for 37 vehicles. We cannot guarantee that all the spaces will be free as  local residents do park  from time to time.

Can we play music?

Yes but we request that no loud music is played because of the close proximity of our neighbours. We do not allow radio microphones. We do not accept bookings for teenage parties.

Can we have bouncy castles?

No sorry we do not allow bouncy castles or any other inflatable devices.

Age restrictions?

Unfortunately we do not hire out the hall for teen parties or ‘big’ birthday celebrations due to the noise and proximity of neighbours.

Can we use the kitchen?

Yes we have a kitchen with a hatch that opens into the Reading Room. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, an urn a kettle and fridge/freezer. We do not have any crockery, cutlery or cups or glasses. We are happy for you to heat up food on the cooker but we do not allow food to be cooked from scratch on the premises.

Can we use the Green?

The Green is public open space and as such anyone can walk on there. We do not allow hirers to put any sort of structure or inflatable on the Green ( or anywhere outside the building) or behave in such a way as to make other users of the Green uncomfortable.

Is there wi fi

Yes. The information is on the noticeboard in the hall.

Will we be the only party using the building

On weekends bookings are only available for the entire Hall – so no other bookings will be taken to clash with your weekend casual booking.
